Recent storms have dramatically increased the snowpack in California's Sierra Nevada mountains, reversing a previously low snow level. NASA satellite images, reported by the Los Angeles Times, show a significant increase in snow coverage. The California Department of Water Resources reported that the snowpack increased from 53% of the historical average on February 9th to 73% by February 23rd. The Southern Sierra experienced the most significant improvement, reaching 98% of its normal snowpack.
