New tropical wave coincides with peak season
A new tropical wave has been identified off the coast of Africa, coinciding with September 10, the statistical peak of the hurricane season. According to the National Hurricane Center, this tropical wave has the potential for slow development as it drifts west-northwestward over the coming days. While the disturbance is expected to move offshore, its development is currently hindered by dry air and wind shear, which are factors that can inhibit the formation of organized storm systems.
