Spring equinox brings spectacular auroras to night sky
On March 20, the spring equinox is expected to bring a spectacular display of auroras to the night sky. This phenomenon is driven by increased geomagnetic activity, influenced by the Russell–McPherron effect, which makes the Earth's magnetosphere more susceptible to solar wind disturbances during equinoxes. The best time to view these auroras is between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. local time in high-latitude regions like Iceland, northern Norway, Sweden, Finland, Alaska, and northern Canada.
