The avalanche struck the base camp of Mount Yalung Ri, situated at a staggering 16,000 feet, on Monday, claiming the lives of seven climbers. Initial rescue operations were hampered by severe weather conditions, but with improved visibility on Tuesday, helicopters were able to access the remote location.
