Governor Greg Abbott has issued a disaster declaration for more than 130 counties, primarily impacting the northern two-thirds of the state. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) has assured residents that the state's electrical grid is better prepared compared to the conditions seen during the February 2021 storm, and no reliability concerns are currently anticipated.
