Significant lake effect snow event incoming
Buffalo's southtowns are bracing for a significant lake effect snow event expected to last until Wednesday. A Winter Storm Warning is currently in effect for the metro Buffalo area and much of Western New York (WNY), as reported by Audacy. The region is experiencing intense snowfall due to a persistent snow band originating from Lake Erie, oscillating between Dunkirk and Attica. Snowfall rates within the most intense bands have been measured at 2 to 3 inches per hour, leading to rapid accumulation.
