A tsunami advisory has been issued following a magnitude-6.7 earthquake that struck off the northeastern coast of Japan, near Aomori, on Friday. The advisory warns of potential tsunami waves up to one meter in height. This event follows a more powerful magnitude-7.5 earthquake that impacted the same region earlier in the week, causing injuries to at least 30 individuals and prompting the evacuation of approximately 90,000 people. Tsunami warnings related to the earlier quake were eventually downgraded and lifted.
