Residents are urged to secure outdoor objects, monitor local weather reports, and take precautions against frostbite and hypothermia.
High winds and flooding threaten Jersey Shore
The Jersey Shore is preparing for strong winds and possible coastal flooding this weekend, even though the expected snowfall has decreased because the path of a strong coastal storm has changed. NJ.com reports that the National Weather Service now forecasts only 1 to 2 inches of snow, mainly along the Jersey Shore, with just a dusting expected in counties south of I-195. Despite less snow, a cold weather advisory is still in effect, with temperatures barely reaching the low 20s°F (-6°C) and wind chills dropping below zero until Saturday morning.
