Gabrielle intensifies: Category 3 hurricane status
Hurricane Gabrielle has rapidly intensified into a Category 3 storm, packing winds of 120 mph. As the second hurricane of the 2025 Atlantic season, Gabrielle is currently located approximately 180 miles southeast of Bermuda. While the storm is not projected to make direct landfall on the island, it is generating significant swells, rough surf, and hazardous rip currents along the U.S. East Coast, stretching from North Carolina to New Jersey.
