The Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, may be visible across 15 US states on the nights of January 16th and 17th, according to the NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center. A minor to moderate geomagnetic storm is predicted to push the aurora farther south than usual, offering a rare spectacle for many. States with the highest probability of witnessing this natural light show include northern areas of Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, and Michigan. Should the geomagnetic activity intensify, the aurora’s visibility could extend even further south into states like Iowa, Wyoming, and New York.
