Washington D.C. experienced record-breaking warmth on March 11, 2026, with temperatures soaring to 86°F (30°C) at Reagan National Airport and 85°F (29°C) at Baltimore Washington International Marshall Airport. This unseasonably warm weather was quickly followed by severe thunderstorms that impacted the northern suburbs, bringing wind damage to areas like northern Montgomery County. The storms, which included a tornado warning for parts of northern Baltimore and Towson, were characterized by their rapid movement and wind gusts reaching up to 70 mph.
