Tonight, the aurora borealis, also known as the northern lights, is predicted to be visible in 19 U.S. states because of a solar flare on March 16. The Space Weather Prediction Center forecasts a moderate G2 solar storm for March 19. NOAA expects the phenomenon to be visible after sunset, mainly between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.
