Estonia has officially opened an ice road connecting the islands of Saaremaa and Hiiumaa, as a significant cold snap grips the region. This 20-kilometer (12.5-mile) stretch across the frozen sea was inaugurated on Sunday, allowing vehicles to traverse the icy path under controlled conditions.
