Blue Ridge Parkway Reopens After Helene’s Storm Damage

A 26-mile section of the Blue Ridge Parkway from Asheville to Mount Mitchell State Park in North Carolina has reopened.
The reopening follows nearly a year of closure due to landslides and infrastructure damage from Hurricane Helene.
Major repairs are still ongoing in other damaged areas as the fall foliage season approaches.
Parkway section reopens after hurricane repairs
The Blue Ridge Parkway has reopened a 26-mile section in western North Carolina, stretching from Asheville to Mount Mitchell State Park, after being closed for nearly a year due to the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Helene.
