Dangerous heat wave hits Southern California
Southern California is currently facing a significant heat wave, with the National Weather Service (NWS) issuing warnings for dangerously high temperatures expected to persist beyond the weekend. The heat wave is affecting coastal, valley, and inland areas, with temperatures forecasted to be 15 to 30 degrees above seasonal averages. Today's temperatures are already reaching the mid-90s in coastal and inland areas of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties, while parts of Los Angeles, Ventura, and the San Fernando Valley are expected to see highs between 90 and 100 degrees. The heat is expected to intensify again early next week, with the most extreme temperatures anticipated from Tuesday through Thursday.
