Heavy rain and flood risk across states
A powerful atmospheric river is currently impacting the Pacific Northwest, bringing significant rainfall and elevating the risk of flooding and avalanches across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. The most severe conditions are expected in Seattle, northern Washington, and the Olympic Mountains. This weather system, drawing moisture from the vicinity of Hawaii, is forecasted to deliver between 3 to 5 inches of rain, with some areas potentially receiving 5 to 8 inches by Friday.
