Elevated levels of fine particle pollution have prompted the EPA to urge residents in parts of Oregon, Nevada, California, and Georgia to limit outdoor activity. As of early January 13, PM2.5 concentrations reached “unhealthy” levels, affecting the general public and posing higher risks for children, older adults, and those with health conditions. These tiny particles can penetrate deep into the lungs and bloodstream, worsening respiratory and heart issues.
