Tornadoes cause fatalities and widespread destruction in Michigan
A series of deadly tornadoes struck southern Michigan on Friday, resulting in four fatalities and widespread devastation. The storms, fueled by moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and cooler air over the Great Lakes, produced at least one confirmed tornado that tore through areas near Union City and Cass County. Branch County Sheriff's Office reported three deaths and twelve injuries in the Union Lake area, while Cass County officials confirmed one death and several injuries. The destructive tornado uprooted trees, destroyed homes, and left debris hanging from power lines.
