Blizzard and thunderstorms forecast across central US
A powerful late-winter storm, referred to as a 'March megastorm' by AccuWeather, is set to unleash a combination of blizzard conditions and thunderstorms across the central United States. The storm is projected to rapidly intensify on March 15th as it moves from the Plains towards the Great Lakes. Originating from a low-pressure system over Wyoming, the storm is expected to bring heavy snow north of its path. The National Weather Service anticipates significant snow accumulations, ranging from 1 to 3 feet, in the upper Midwest. Adding to the severity, wind gusts exceeding 50 mph could lead to blizzard conditions, severely limiting visibility and making travel extremely dangerous.
