Wildfire smoke prompts health advisory in Colorado
Residents in southeastern Colorado are being urged to remain indoors due to a significant air quality health advisory caused by widespread wildfire smoke. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has issued an alert covering counties such as Kit Carson, Cheyenne, Kiowa, Crowley, Otero, Bent, Prowers, and Pueblo, effective from 4 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday. The most severe smoke concentrations are anticipated along the lower Arkansas River Valley, particularly affecting Las Animas and Lamar. Communities like Burlington, Cheyenne Wells, Eads, Ordway, and Pueblo are also under the advisory.
