Global warming accelerates, raising climate impact concerns
Recent observations indicate that global warming is accelerating at a rate faster than previously projected, raising concerns about future climate impacts. Temperatures are rising more rapidly than anticipated by current climate models, with the Earth's warming rate increasing from 0.18°C per decade until the 2010s to 0.32°C per decade. This acceleration is partly attributed to a reduction in aerosol pollution, particularly the decrease in sulphur aerosols from regions like China and international shipping, leading to increased solar radiation reaching the Earth's surface. Natural phenomena like the El Niño event and volcanic activity have also contributed to recent temperature spikes.
