Northern Florida and the Panhandle are under a freeze warning, with temperatures expected to plummet into the high 20s and low 30s overnight. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued the alert, highlighting the region's vulnerability to short-duration freezes, following previous cold episodes this winter. The cold poses significant risks to sensitive vegetation, agriculture, and outdoor animals unaccustomed to such temperatures. Affected cities include Tallahassee, Lake City, Perry, Gainesville, and Ocala. A frost advisory is also in effect for eastern Marion County, western Clay, and western Putnam Counties.
