PM2.5 pollution triggers air quality alert
An unhealthy air quality alert has been issued for Oklahoma and Kansas because of increased PM2.5 pollution levels. Residents are encouraged to stay inside to reduce exposure to hazardous particles. The Environmental Protection Agency's AirNow Map shows that air quality in Oklahoma reached unhealthy levels on March 25, 2026, at 7:30 a.m. ET. PM2.5 particles, smaller than 2.5 micrometers, can enter the lungs and bloodstream, worsening heart and lung conditions.
