South Texas is experiencing a persistent heat wave as late October comes to a close, with temperatures reaching nearly 100°F (38°C). These high temperatures are threatening to break daily records for this time of year. Similarly, Southern California is also facing increased heat, prompting a Heat Advisory as temperatures climb into the 80s and 90s Fahrenheit (27-37°C). This unseasonable warmth extends across much of the southern United States, where temperatures remain significantly above average. This contrasts sharply with the much cooler conditions prevailing in the northern and eastern regions of the country.
