A winter storm system is forecasted to move through Georgia, bringing significant snowfall to various parts of the state from Saturday morning through early Sunday. According to the National Weather Service, northeast Georgia is expected to receive the highest snowfall, with Toccoa projected to see up to 6 inches. Other areas such as Blairsville and Athens may receive 4 inches and 3 inches respectively. Even regions as far south as Savannah could experience snowfall, with an expected accumulation of 1 inch. The forecast indicates that Atlanta might see 0.5 inches, while Macon is projected to receive only 0.1 inch. The snowfall totals are subject to change as the weather system develops.
