Super Typhoon Ragasa, known locally as Nando, has intensified as it approaches the Philippines, posing a significant threat to Batanes and the Babuyan Islands. As of September 21, 2025, the super typhoon was located east of Cagayan, packing sustained winds of 185 km/h (115 mph) and gusts reaching up to 230 km/h (145 mph). The storm is moving west-northwest and is expected to bring life-threatening storm surges exceeding 3 meters, destructive winds, and dangerously rough seas to the affected areas.
