A severe heat wave is currently affecting the U.S. Southwest, leading to unprecedented temperature records and heightened wildfire risks. Las Vegas recently hit a new record high of 96°F (36°C), while Phoenix reached an all-time high for March at 105°F (40°C). The Weather Prediction Center anticipates that these extreme temperatures will persist, potentially setting new records in both cities through the end of the month.
