Montana experiences record-breaking warm winter temperatures
Montana is experiencing an unusually warm winter, with several cities breaking temperature records. According to the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, Billings recorded an average daily high temperature of 47°F (8°C) from late fall to early winter, exceeding the previous record set in 1999 by 1.4°F (0.8°C). This widespread warmth is affecting snowpack levels across the state, leading to closures of ski runs and contributing to flooding in northwestern communities like Libby.
