A recent experiment in the Italian Dolomites showcased a new device's potential to improve survival rates for avalanche victims. The study, at 6,500 feet, involved thirty-six volunteers buried face down in the snow. Half used the Safeback SBX, which extracts air from the snowpack and delivers it to the user's chest.
