Austin is currently experiencing an extended period of dry weather, marking one of its driest starts to fall in almost 70 years. A persistent heat dome has settled over the region, preventing much-needed rainfall from reaching the city. While tropical storms Priscilla and Raymond have brought significant precipitation to the desert Southwest, Austin remains largely unaffected, missing out on this rainfall by approximately 550 miles.
