Atlantic hurricane season unusually calm so far
As the Atlantic hurricane season nears its typical peak on September 10th, the region remains unusually calm. So far, only one hurricane, Erin, has developed, a stark contrast to preseason forecasts that predicted up to ten hurricanes. This subdued activity is largely attributed to dry, dusty air originating from the Sahara Desert, which is effectively suppressing storm formation.
