Severe heat wave hits Southern California
Southern California is currently facing a severe heat wave, with temperatures predicted to hit record highs. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory, which will soon become an extreme heat warning, lasting until Friday evening. The warning covers Los Angeles County, including cities like Woodland Hills, East Los Angeles, Thousand Oaks, Beverly Hills, Glendale, and Westlake Village. Temperatures are expected to range from 96°F to 104°F, with downtown Los Angeles potentially reaching 101°F and Glendale hitting 104°F. Climate scientist Daniel Swain has noted the unusual nature of this early-season heat wave, calling it a 'full-on summer heat wave in March,' highlighting the potential impacts of climate change.
