Calm Atlantic Signals 2025 Hurricane Season Could Be Done
US · Published Nov 13, 2025
Forecasters predict a quiet end to the 2025 hurricane season, with minimal storm activity expected through November
If no further storms develop, the U.S. mainland will experience its first hurricane-free season in a decade.
Calmer conditions are attributed to unfavorable wind shear and cooler sea surface temperatures in the Atlantic.
Low chance of storms; quiet end predicted
With just over two weeks remaining in the 2025 hurricane season, forecasters are indicating a quiet end, with very low chances of additional storms. Current weather models show minimal activity through November 25, suggesting the U.S. mainland is likely to remain hurricane-free. This follows a season where Hurricane Melissa brought devastation to parts of the Caribbean, including Haiti and Jamaica, resulting in at least 90 deaths. The absence of any further storms would mark a significant milestone – the first hurricane-free season for the U.S. mainland in a decade.
