Midweek warmth for northern states, wildfire risk
Much of the U.S. is set to experience above-average warmth midweek, particularly across the northern states. Temperatures are expected to climb into the 80s from the Northwest to the Plains, with the Upper Midwest seeing highs in the 70s. On Thursday, a weather system will bring cooler temperatures to the Pacific Northwest, with coastal areas experiencing temperatures in the 60s and 70s. However, inland regions will face hot, dry, and windy conditions, significantly increasing the risk of wildfires.
