Strong winds are forecasted to impact western and central New York today, leading to the issuance of multiple high wind warnings and advisories by the National Weather Service in Buffalo. The warnings are in effect from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. for several counties including Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Northern Erie, Genesee, and Wyoming, with expected southwest winds of 25 to 35 mph and gusts reaching up to 60 mph, particularly between 3 and 7 p.m. Additional warnings cover Chautauqua and Southern Erie counties, where gusts may reach 55 mph in the morning and up to 60 mph later in the day. Wind advisories are also in place for other regions, predicting winds of 20 to 35 mph with gusts between 45 and 50 mph.
