Enhanced risk across nine states issued
The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center has issued an enhanced risk alert for severe thunderstorms and potential tornadoes across nine states, including Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Louisiana. The threat is anticipated to develop on Sunday afternoon and continue through Sunday night, impacting a large portion of the South-Central and Southeast states, extending into the Midwest and Ohio Valley. A fast-moving cold front is the primary driver, sweeping east across the mid-Mississippi Valley into the Ohio Valley, with thunderstorm development concentrated along and ahead of the boundary. The SPC has identified a 10 percent tornado area within the enhanced-risk corridor and expanded the damaging-wind area southward, highlighting significant severe potential.
