As announced on the City of Augusta's official website, these shelters will remain open and accessible as long as the mercury stays below the freezing mark of 32°F (0°C). To ensure that everyone has access to these vital resources, Augusta Transit is providing free transportation to the designated overnight warming shelters. This service is available from 3-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 5-8 p.m. on Sundays, making it easier for vulnerable individuals to reach safety and warmth.
