Israel faces severe air pollution from haze
Israel is currently grappling with a severe haze event, marking one of the worst instances of air pollution in recent years. Cities such as Jerusalem and Tel Aviv are experiencing exceptionally high pollution levels, ranking among the most polluted cities worldwide. The haze, characterized by a distinctive cloudy orange-gray sky and significantly reduced visibility, is a result of strong southwesterly winds carrying dust from North Africa. This Saharan dust combines with local urban emissions, leading to a dangerous increase in air pollution levels.
