A tragic avalanche in the Italian Dolomites has claimed the lives of a father and his 17-year-old daughter, along with three other German climbers. The group was ascending Cima Vertana, a peak soaring over 11,500 feet, when the avalanche struck on Saturday afternoon. The force of the snow swept the climbers into a deep gully, leaving little chance of survival for most of the party.
