Early winter storm brings substantial snowfall
A significant early winter storm is poised to deliver substantial snowfall to the Great Smoky Mountains, prompting a Winter Storm Warning that remains in effect until 7 a.m. Tuesday. According to the National Weather Service, most areas can expect between 4 and 8 inches of snow. Higher elevations, such as Mount LeConte and Newfound Gap, could see accumulations reaching up to 15 inches.
