Southeast travel disrupted by severe Thanksgiving storms
Severe storms caused significant disruption to Thanksgiving travel in the Southeast this Tuesday morning, leading to a brief evacuation of the air traffic control tower at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the evacuation occurred around 8:45 a.m. EST. During the evacuation, air traffic control responsibilities were temporarily transferred to the Atlanta Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) facility. Tower operations resumed approximately 10 minutes later.
