Hawaii is currently grappling with the extensive aftermath of severe flooding, representing the most significant inundation experienced by the islands in more than twenty years. Over the weekend, intense rainfall led to widespread flooding, primarily affecting the North Shore of Oahu and certain areas of Maui. Thousands of residents were compelled to evacuate as floodwaters carried away homes and vehicles, submerged agricultural lands, and overwhelmed commercial establishments, leaving streets covered in thick layers of mud.
