Rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to drench the central and northern Plains through Thursday, bringing much-needed relief to some areas while potentially causing localized flooding in others. A weather system moving out of the northern Rockies is gradually strengthening over the north-central U.S., leading to unsettled conditions across the region.
