Central Rockies face ongoing showers and thunderstorms, increasing the risk of localized flash floods.
Low-lying areas, urban zones, and recently burned regions are particularly vulnerable to heavy rain and flooding.
Residents are advised to monitor WPC alerts, prepare for debris flows and urban flooding, and exercise caution on the roads.
Showers and thunderstorms bring flash flood potential
The Central Rockies are bracing for continued showers and thunderstorms from Monday into Tuesday, bringing with them the potential for localized flash flooding. The primary concern revolves around areas susceptible to rapid water accumulation, including low-lying regions, urban zones with extensive pavement, and small streams that can quickly overflow their banks. Recently burned areas are also at higher risk due to reduced vegetation and increased runoff.
