Oahu's North Shore hit hardest by floods
Hawaii is currently facing its worst flooding in two decades, with the North Shore of Oahu being particularly hard-hit. Muddy floodwaters have overwhelmed large areas, displacing homes and vehicles and leading to the evacuation of 5,500 residents north of Honolulu. The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning, anticipating that ongoing light to moderate showers will intensify. Governor Josh Green estimates that the storm's damage could exceed $1 billion, affecting critical infrastructure such as airports, schools, roads, homes, and a hospital in Maui.
