The Midwest and Plains regions are bracing for a weekend of severe weather, with thunderstorms expected to bring heavy rainfall and a significant risk of flash floods. Clusters of storms will persist across these areas from the weekend into early next week, fueled by abundant Gulf moisture and slow-moving frontal boundaries. The areas of greatest concern for flash flooding include regions along the Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma border, as well as the Ozarks.
