The India Meteorological Department (IMD) is set to significantly enhance weather forecasting and early warning capabilities in Jammu & Kashmir with the installation of four new weather radars under Mission Mausam. This announcement was made by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr. Jitendra Singh. These additions will complement the three existing radars, providing more precise, district-level weather information crucial for mitigating the impact of severe weather events.
