Heavy rains cause severe flooding in Nanded
Heavy rains and a cloudburst have caused severe flooding in Maharashtra's Nanded district, leading to the deployment of the Indian Army and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) for rescue operations. The incident, which occurred on Monday, August 18, has left five people missing and over 200 stranded in Mukhed taluka. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis confirmed that 120 Army personnel from Ahmednagar have been dispatched to aid in the rescue efforts, particularly in Ravangaon, where more than 225 citizens were trapped by the rising floodwaters.
