A magnitude 6.0 earthquake in Myanmar caused tremors in Kolkata and Bangladesh, but no damage has been reported.
The shallow depth of the earthquake (10 km) contributed to its widespread impact across borders.
This is the third earthquake felt in Myanmar in 71 hours and the second in Bangladesh in less than 24 hours.

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake in Myanmar rattled Kolkata and parts of Bangladesh on Tuesday, triggering widespread concern but causing no reported damage. The quake, which struck at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers, was centered approximately 70 miles east of Akyab, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). The German Research Centre for Geosciences corroborated the shallow depth, noting that such quakes are typically felt over a larger area.
