Mumbai residents experienced a welcome respite from relentless rainfall as clearer skies emerged on Thursday morning. The city had been battered by nearly 300 mm of rain in just 24 hours, but the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert, indicating that rainfall over Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra will gradually ease over the next three days.
